My name is Mickey Schlick. I am a 30 year old freelancer dabbling in just about anything creative that I can get my hands on. I am a tattoo artist by trade and I work at Blaque Owl Tattoo in Missoula, Montana. When I’m not at the shop, I am hanging out with my family, working on tattoo drawings and art projects from home. When not working on tattoos, I am usually trying to peddle one of my other trades. I love exploring new mediums and setting and achieving new goals. I’ve been tattooing for about 8 years now but from time to time I leave the trade to focus on other artistic endeavors.

I didn’t get into art until comparatively late in life and when I did I quickly became fond of realism in general and also portraiture with the theory that any problem I would face in my attempts to achieve realism I would run into somewhere between the ears. These days I feel comfortable enough with realism that I really want to start pushing things. Expand and maybe even improve on the stuff that mother nature offers us. Lately with the addition of digital media to my life I have been able to explore this much more freely than I could previously. Hopefully in the very near future some of this new stuff that I am practicing will start to work it’s way into my portfolio.

I’ve been proud to have the opportunity to offer my customers “Anything from skin to steel” and working in almost any medium. From tattooing, traditional drawing and painting, airbrushing, automotive painting, and wall murals to photography and digital media with the most recent addition of website implementation. Tattooing is my first love, but I enjoy having the tools to bring my customers ideas to life.
